How the drums behave

Choose a stake, send the three drums round and read whatever comes to rest in front of you. There is no skill in it and no strategy worth the name, which is rather the point of the room.

How the marks are cut

Each band carries the seven marks in fixed proportion: twenty-six lozenges to every hundred positions, and two eyes. Every drum is drawn on its own, in your browser, on every turn, and none of them remembers the last one. A long run of nothing does not ripen into anything; it is simply a long run of nothing.

The numbers above were chosen for pacing. With no money anywhere near the table they cannot be chosen for anything else.

A fresh allowance arrives on its own every three hours, and a table scraped clean is refilled at no charge. You are never required to buy a thing.

The stake is virtual. Glints are counters kept in this browser. They cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for money, goods or vouchers, traded, gifted or moved to another player, and nothing that happens on these drums produces a prize.
