I · The House
A gaming house that cannot pay you
Six rooms, open to any adult, free of charge, and built on purpose so that nobody can carry a thing out of them.
The pleasure of a casino game and the cost of one turn out to be separable. Watching a drum settle, a pointer slow or a card come up is the whole of the entertainment; the money was only ever the part that did the harm. We took the first and declined the second, and the result is this house — a social casino, which is a phrase worth reading as literally as it is written.
The counters are called Glints. They are given out at no cost, replenished at no cost, and there is no desk anywhere in this building at which they could be turned into money. That is not a restriction we have imposed on ourselves reluctantly. It is the reason the place exists in the form it does.
Everything you see is made here. The rooms, their rules, the marks engraved on the reels, the photographs on the walls of this site — ours. No real casino’s name, logo, game or trade dress appears on playmischief.com, and none is going to. Borrowing them would dress the house up as something it deliberately is not.

II · The distinction
What we are, and what we take care not to be
Social casino and casino are two different trades that happen to share some furniture. The difference is not decorative, and we would rather state it than imply it.
What the house is
- A free browser entertainment for adults, opened on a whim and closed on one
- Six rooms of our own design, played with counters of our own issue
- A place where the balance is the whole of the score and the score is the whole of it
- One company, at one address, answerable for every line it publishes
What the house is not
- A gambling operator, a betting service, or a doorway to either
- Somewhere to stake money against the prospect of receiving more of it
- A sweepstake, a raffle, a prize draw or a contest of any description
- An affiliate, a referrer or a shop window for anybody who is one
An evening here forecasts nothing about an evening anywhere else.
We build for pacing and atmosphere. A commercial betting product is built to hold an edge and puts real money on the line, so a pleasant run at our tables is evidence of exactly nothing at theirs. Treat the two as unrelated, because they are.
III · The counters
How Glints work, and where they stop
One balance, handed over at the door, refilled by the house, and unable to cross the threshold in either direction.

You sit down with 5,000 Glints. A fresh allowance is set down at three-hourly intervals, and should you flatten the pile completely we fill it again unasked and free of charge. Waiting is the entire penalty for running out.
The balance is a number kept by your own browser, not an account we hold on your behalf. There is nothing to register, no password to lose and no ledger with your name at the top of it. Clear the browsing data and the number returns to 5,000, which is exactly what it was worth before.
Glints buy stakes in six rooms and nothing else whatsoever. They are not money, credit, tokens, points redeemable against anything, or a claim on us of any sort. The payout rates are a matter of rhythm rather than margin — when nothing crosses the table, there is no margin to protect — so please read nothing into them.
In-game purchases are available, and never necessary.
The Glint Room offers bigger piles of virtual Glints to anyone who would rather not sit out the wait. That is the whole of the offer. A purchase shortens no odds, unlocks no door, alters no rule and creates no prospect of gaining anything of real value, and bought counters are cashed out, redeemed and passed along exactly as freely as given ones: not at all. Every door stays open indefinitely to people who never spend a penny, and only adults of eighteen and over may buy at all.
IV · The house rules
What this house does not do
Not a list of things we have not got round to yet. A list of things that will not be added, because adding any one of them would make this a different building.
- No wagering of real money. There is no stake to place, no deposit to make, no odds offered against cash and no balance of ours that money could enter.
- No cash-outs. Glints do not leave this browser as money, credit, vouchers, goods, tokens, cryptocurrency or anything a person could carry, sell or spend elsewhere.
- No prizes. Nothing physical, digital or redeemable is awarded here for winning, for playing, for spending or for turning up.
- No draws, raffles, sweepstakes or contests. We hold none, we enter you into none, and no balance counts towards one anywhere.
- No transfers between players. Counters cannot be gifted, traded, pooled, sold or moved from one balance to another. No such mechanism was ever built.
- No route to real-money gambling. No links, adverts, banners, referrals, affiliate codes or sign-up flows pointing at any gambling service, on any page of playmischief.com.
- No borrowed identities. No real casino, operator or licensed game is named, pictured, imitated or implied anywhere on this site.
Nothing here is won, and nothing here is lost. The balance climbs, the balance drops, and at every moment it is worth what it was worth on your way in, which is nothing whatsoever. Anyone who describes this site as a way to make money is describing a site we have not built. Adults of eighteen and over only.
V · Keeping it civil
An evening is the most this house can cost you
Nobody forfeits anything of value in this building, so the one thing left worth looking after is your evening. We take that seriously enough to interrupt you about it.
- Your age is asked once at the door and remembered on that device; under-eighteens are not admitted, alone or in company
- A reminder surfaces on screen when a sitting has gone on rather longer than most people intend, and it is as easy to dismiss as it is to heed
- Purchases stay optional at every point, and on a shared device the payment methods can be locked at the operating system so the question never arises
- A balance can be wiped and begun again from the standard 5,000, at no cost and with no explanation owed to anyone
- A self-exclusion for a fixed stretch can be requested by writing to [email protected], and the answer will be a confirmation rather than a negotiation
We have no reason to keep you at a table. Nothing you do in these rooms earns this house anything, and the only purchase we offer is one you can decline forever without noticing a difference. That leaves us free to say the obvious thing: if an evening here has stopped being enjoyable, close the tab.
If gambling itself has turned into a problem for you, the conversation worth having is with a qualified support service where you live, and not with a website. We do not diagnose, counsel or refer, and we would be doing you no favours by pretending otherwise. What we can do is keep the door closed for as long as you ask.
